Nationals Member for Calare John Cobb today joined the chorus of congratulations coming from around the region for Cumnock’s Christine Weston who was named the 2010 New South Wales Woman of the Year. Ms Weston was presented her award during a ceremony at Parliament House last night. “Christine is a great local citizen and proof that people in Regional New South Wales, and in particular our area, can achieve so much with a ‘can do’ attitude”, Mr Cobb said. “Christine is a great role model for residents of the region and a huge asset to the Cumnock community and the entire Central West.” Mr Cobb, who leant his support to the Cumnock and District Progress Association when they prepared Ms Weston’s nomination, said it was an easy endorsement. “You only have to look at the huge amounts of success both the Rent-a-Farmhouse scheme and the Animals on bikes sculptures have had to understand how much of an impact Christine has had on the community”, Mr Cobb said. “Christine has done herself, her family, her region and regional women across the state very proud.” Mr Cobb was joined by Member for Orange Russell Turner and a series of other community members in offering congratulations to Ms Weston.
